The CAST Lab — Computational Agricultural Statistics Laboratory is a cooperative academic environment aiming at developing and testing innovative approaches for the improvement of computational and statistical methods applied to agricultural and rural data production and analysis.

Currently based at the Department of Statistics of The Federal University of Pernambuco, our team is formed by researchers from Brazil and Colombia, specialized in strategic areas of statistics, computing and engineering.

Research is developed in four major areas:

    Probability sampling and survey methodology,
    Computational tools for agricultural surveys,
    Remote sensing applications to agriculture, and
    Statistical modeling and data analysis.
